Thoroughbred Consulting

The Consultants of Regulus Consulting have used our knowledge of thoroughbred pedigrees and the commercial thoroughbred markets in combination with several mating and nicking analysis systems to design a pedigree rating system like none before. We reverse engineered over 1,000 top stake winning equine pedigrees identifying similarities in the industries top analysis programs and designed a formula to amplify the pedigree traits.

We use Ellen Parker's "Influential Female" Reines de Course and James R. Hardiman's Chefs de Race Dosage Index similarity traits factored to a percentage and applied to our custom formulas, complied with a Regulus rating of the equines pedigree Stakes Winners (Black Type) and the Dams "Large Heart Genetics" X factor to assign a single Regulus pedigree rating in a Letter + Numerical Percentage format (Example: A 94%).  

Our pedigree analysis system was designed solely for our breeding purposes to improve the chances of producing a stakes winner and unlike other nicking programs ours does not solely base its results upon past stake winners produced by similar mating. With that being stated, if a analysis program is successful and should produce an increased number of stakes winners then it should also identify the same winning traits in current performing equine, so on that basis we have applied our analysis system for the past four years to the Triple Crown stake races and it performed on a 75% basis, identifying an average of 3 of the 4 top finishers per race out of the top 40% according to their Regulus pedigree analysis rating, therefore providing us with the confirmation required to guarantee our breeding success.
